Welcome to Herb & Dahlia.
I’m Ellie. I’ve been growing flowers my whole life, from pottering on my parents’ allotment as a child to creating gardens out of a few pots on a patch of concrete outside a rental flat. When I finally had a garden of my own, I filled it with flowers and started making bouquets for friends and neighbours. In 2022, I was lucky enough to move H&D to a patch of land next to the railway in Beckenham. Now, I grow on 250m2, providing around 3,000 stems of seasonal blooms to local customers, florists and wedding clients each year.
The flowers
I specialise in seasonal flowers and foliage – from tulips and narcissi in spring through to roses and dahlias in summer and autumn, and holly and conifer for Christmas. All the varieties I grow are chosen for their scent and beauty – no sterile supermarket flowers here! I grow without pesticides and using no dig and regenerative farming techniques.
Herb & Dahlia is a proud member of Flowers from the Farm, a collective of growers working together to promote British-grown flowers.
I cut everything to order, typically 1-2 days before delivery. This means that your flowers will be the freshest possible (particularly compared to imported blooms), there is no need to treat them with chemicals, and provides maximum vase life.
